Templates/Wholesale distributors

Internal tools for wholesale distributors.

Open orders in one spreadsheet, the price book in another, AR aging exported from QuickBooks on Fridays. Prized lets you rebuild that stack as internal tools you shape by describing what you need, starting from working templates built for distribution.

Distribution runs on a handful of spreadsheets everyone knows by name: the open-orders sheet keyed from emailed POs, the price book with cost columns updated whenever a vendor sends a new sheet, the reorder tab, and the AR aging export pulled from QuickBooks at the end of the week. The numbers being chased are fill rate, margin per SKU and per customer after freight, days of cover on A items, receivables over 60, and open orders past their promise date.

The breakage is double entry and lag. Orders get keyed into the sheet and again into QuickBooks, and the two disagree by Thursday. Fill rate is unknown until a customer calls about shorts, which is the most expensive way to learn it. A vendor price increase eats margin for a month before the price book catches up, and by then the quotes that went out at old cost are already commitments.

A purpose-built tool takes each of these off the spreadsheet: orders tracked from received to invoiced in one place with fill rate computed instead of guessed, reorder points with a standing low-stock list for A items, margin by SKU and customer that moves when costs move, and aging buckets that produce the collections call list. Every template is a working example; open one, then prompt it into your catalog, your customers, your terms.

Common questions

Can I import my item list, costs, and open orders?

Yes. Templates open with sample SKUs, orders, and invoices so you can see the whole flow working. When you start from one, you import your own data, usually CSV exports from QuickBooks or the spreadsheets you run today, and the tool operates on your real book from there.

We looked at distribution ERPs and the quotes were absurd. Where does this fit?

In the gap between spreadsheets and a full ERP. These are focused internal tools for the specific things your sheets do badly: order status, fill rate, reorder points, aging. You can open any template and reshape it before deciding anything, and you are not signing an implementation contract to find out.

Our pricing has customer-specific levels and freight allocation. Can a template handle that?

Not as shipped, and the template does not pretend to; it shows a clean baseline with sample data. You describe your price levels and how freight should hit margin, in plain language, and the tool is rebuilt to match. Unusual rules are exactly what describing your own tool is for.

The tool you actually need is one description away.

Start from a template above or from a blank page: either way, you describe it and Prized builds it.
