Templates/SaaS startups

Internal tools for SaaS startups.

Prized builds internal tools from a plain-language prompt, so the dashboard you keep meaning to build actually exists this week. The templates below are working examples for early SaaS teams: open one on sample data, then prompt it into the shape of your funnel and your metrics.

Early SaaS teams track revenue in a spreadsheet rebuilt every month from Stripe exports, with tabs for MRR movements, a churn log where the reason column says pricing? half the time, and a trial list pasted from the signups table every Monday. The numbers you chase, net MRR growth, logo churn, trial-to-paid conversion, activation rate, first response time, each live in a different tab, and none of them reconcile with last month's investor update.

The breakage is predictable. The MRR sheet falls apart the first time a customer upgrades mid-month or a refund lands. Churn reasons logged inconsistently mean you cannot tell whether you are losing customers to price or to a missing feature, so the debate runs on anecdotes. Trials go cold because no one owns the list, and the followup happens the day after the trial expires. Feature requests pile up in Slack threads where the loudest customer wins.

A purpose-built tool gives each of those jobs a home. One revenue view where new business, expansion, contraction, and churn actually add up. Every cancellation logged with a reason and the MRR lost, so the churn conversation starts from data. A trial board with owners and stages, so activated-but-not-converted accounts get a call before day 14, not after. The templates below are working tools, not mockups: open one, poke at the sample data, then describe your plans, segments, and definitions of activated and churned.

Common questions

Can we get our real subscription and churn data in?

After you start from a template, yes. Templates open on sample data so the example is concrete: real-looking accounts, movements, and tickets you can click through. Once the tool is shaped the way you want, you replace the sample data with your own records, for example a CSV of subscriptions or cancellations, and go from there.

We could build this ourselves. Why wouldn't we?

You could, and that is exactly why it never happens: internal dashboards lose the prioritization fight every sprint. Here the working version already exists. You adjust it by prompting, in plain language, and changes take minutes instead of a ticket in the backlog. No code to maintain, nothing to deploy.

Our metric definitions are specific. Can the templates match them?

Yes. If you count churn at end of term rather than at cancellation, exclude annual plans from monthly movement, or define activation as three projects created in week one, you state the rule and the tool is rebuilt around it. The template is a starting point; your definitions win.

The tool you actually need is one description away.

Start from a template above or from a blank page: either way, you describe it and Prized builds it.
