About this template

A weekly grid of shifts by role and site: food pantry, front desk, tutoring, drivers. Assign volunteers to open slots, see filled versus needed counts per shift, and get unfilled shifts highlighted before the week starts. A roster view tracks each volunteer's roles, availability, and hours logged this month for board reporting.

The live demo ships with sample data: Comes with 40 volunteers, four roles across two sites, a two week shift grid with about 80 percent of slots filled so gaps are visible, and logged hours per volunteer for the current month.

The prompt behind this template

This is the exact description the Prized agent built it from. Yours can be one sentence: the agent fills in the rest, and you refine from there.

Build a volunteer shift scheduler for Harvest Table Community Services, a food pantry and resource center in Dayton that fills about 65 volunteer slots a week across two sites. Layout: a compact coverage strip at the top: Slots Filled This Week 82%, Open Slots This Week 11, Hours Scheduled This Week 148, Volunteers Active This Month 34. The main region is a two-week schedule grid with one column per day and rows grouped by site (Main Street Pantry, then Eastside Center) and by role within each site (Food Pantry, Front Desk, Tutoring, Drivers). Each shift renders as a chip reading filled over needed, like 2/3, colored green when fully filled, amber when partly filled, red when nobody is assigned. A toggle switches between This Week, Next Week, and Both. Clicking a shift opens a side panel showing time, site, role, needed count, and the assigned volunteers, with an assign form that picks a volunteer from the roster. A second tab, Roster, shows a sortable list of all 40 volunteers with name, roles they can work, available days, hours logged this month, and last shift date, next to a bar chart of scheduled hours by role across the two visible weeks. Default roster sort is hours this month descending. Data: 40 volunteers with realistic names, four roles, two sites, and about 50 shifts across the current and following week totaling roughly 130 needed slots, with about 80 percent filled. Each roster record carries hours logged this month, from 2 to 22 per volunteer, and a last shift date. Plant one clear story: driver coverage at the Eastside Center is the hole. Five of the eleven open slots this week are Eastside driver shifts, and both Saturday driver shifts there are completely empty and red, while Main Street Pantry runs nearly full, so a glance at the grid says exactly where recruiting effort should go. Behavior: fill percentages, open slot counts, scheduled hours, and the role chart are computed from shifts and assignments, never typed in; hours logged this month and last shift date ride in with the seeded roster. Assigning a volunteer updates the chip count and color. The grid, side panel, and roster must look fully alive and show the Eastside driver gap from seeded data alone, before anyone assigns a single slot. Visual identity: use an ocean cyan accent for primary actions, the coverage strip, and chart color on a bright airy neutral base with a friendly community-bulletin-board warmth; keep green, amber, and red strictly for coverage states.
